Our 13 days trek takes us through deserted villages, wild desert scenery like the American Southwest, and vast grasslands where herdsmen graze their yak. We explore Ladakh's remote Rupshu district, home of nomadic trribes, hideen forts, high passes and majestic yak. The area was first opened to foreigners in 1989, and has since then seen very little outside influence. While enjoying we cross 5 passes exceeding 16'000 feet of elevation, in the shadow of peaks towering over 20'000 feet.
