Dear All, I have spent 10 days in Nepal after the ICC Banking Commission meetings in New Delhi in December 2003. I was taken good care of by Kedar of Pacific Tour in Kathmandu. He is the boss of this company. He has high sense of quality assurance in providing tour services. I am very lucky to have met him. He treated me like a friend rather than a customer. We had very happy times together in Kathmandu dining and drinking together in two local restaurants specialised in Nepalese cuisine. One has a romantic setting with dancers and local music. His driver Ram is also very responsible. When the radio and TV announced road block the next today due to Maoists, Ram ran everywhere to find me so that we could leave the day before the road block. Otherwise we would be stuck. Ram did not speak much but he is the sort of person who perform silently rattan than boosting. It is safe to go to Nepal. Maoist is not a threat. "Dear Kedar, Today is my second day at work in Holland again. I can not concentrate on working, because my thoughts are still with our great trip to Sikkim and Bhutan. We had a wonderful 3 1/2 weeks, thanks to your perfect organisation. Yesterday I spoke with Joop Kristelijn and I told him about the fantastic trip. I have promised to him that we will write a small reference text about our trek. There is only one thing that I would suggest to you, and you will not be surprised to hear about that: we would have been pleased if you had given us the necessary information about visa, hotels and tickets at a much earlier stage, instead of one day before and during the trip. But still, everything was perfectly fine, good accommodation, good transport, perfect guides, all connections working and never a dull moment.
